Why don’t you have silicone sprays with your exhaust wrap like other brands?
We make wraps starting with better US made fibers, taking time to make a tight weave, and when we do use it premium ingredients on our coatings. If you absolutely feel like you must coat it because some person on a forum swears by it, save money buy an exhaust paint from a local auto parts store or online retailer. It will last longer than a silicone spray.
Why does my header wrap get brittle and fall apart?
When exhaust wrap exceeds its designated working temperature, it will crystalize and become brittle. This is why you need to use a quality exhaust wrap who sources their materials in the USA.
Will Exhaust Wrap smoke when it is new? Is this normal for exhaust wrap to smoke?
Yes – Exhaust Wrap will smoke for a while on a fresh install. It is not harmful to breathe in, but it does stink. Please do an initial start up in a well ventilated are, or preferably outside! The smoke you see is a starch, the starch goes on the fibers when the fibers are still raw. While it isn’t harmful to breath in, we wouldn’t advise it, it stinks – don’t hot box in your garage!
