High-Performance Black Header Wrap

Stealth Inferno wrap is a high-performance heat shield wrap for your big power race car or boosted application. If you’re tired of replacing the other brand’s 2000°F exhaust wrap that becomes brittle and falls apart, our Stealth Inferno Header Wrap is the perfect solution. It is rated at a true 2000°F of sustained abuse and stays flexible, with a long life. Stealth Inferno Header Wrap stays flexible, you can unwrap the header when needed after hundreds of heat cycles—even after extreme temperatures have been reached. Simply put, there is no insulating header that will withstand higher temperatures and last longer.

The True 2000-F Header Wrap In Black!

Fiberglass and basalt-based (crushed volcanic rock) exhaust wraps have their place, and we rate our products with these materials at a 1200°F operating temperature. To function in serious heat, our Stealth Inferno Wrap is made from silica fiber dyed black, making this header wrap soft, strong and flexible while operating at its designed continuous temperature of 2000°F. In fact, this wrap can withstand intermittent temperatures of 3000°F, making it the only wrap to use on your forced-induction or racing application.

FAQ

Why does my header wrap get brittle and fall apart?

When exhaust wrap exceeds its designated working temperature, it will crystalize and become brittle. Our Stealth Inferno Header Wrap is the only true 2000°F exhaust wrap that can sustain short term temperatures of 3000°F.

I hear wrapping your exhaust pipes causes them to rust, is this true?

No – these materials (fiberglass, basalt [Lava Wrap], and silica [Inferno Wrap]) are naturally water-resistant. A properly installed wrap minimizes moisture contact with the exhaust, and any water that does get through evaporates quickly from high exhaust temperatures.

Will Stealth Inferno Header Wrap smoke when it is new? Is this normal for exhaust wrap to smoke?

Yes – Stealth Inferno Wrap will smoke for a while on a fresh install. It is not harmful to breathe in, but it does stink. Please do an initial start up in a well ventilated are, or preferably outside! The smoke you see is a starch, the starch goes on the fibers when the fibers are still raw. While it isn’t harmful to breath in, we wouldn’t advise it, it stinks – don’t hot box in your garage!

Does soaking the exhaust wrap when I install it cause it to shrink and fit the pipe better?

No – These high-performance, water-resistant fibers—fiberglass, basalt, and silica—used in automotive exhaust wraps won’t shrink like cotton. Lightly dampening the wrap helps control loose fibers for a tighter, cleaner installation on your performance exhaust system. Wetting improves adhesion during the wrapping process, but it doesn’t cause the material to shrink. Patience and proper technique are key for a flawless automotive performance upgrade.
