Lava® Tube is a rugged lava heat sleeve that protects fuel lines, wiring, hoses, and other sensitive components from extreme heat. Its woven volcanic rock fiber construction provides excellent thermal resistance in demanding automotive environments.
Lava® Tube handles continuous temperatures up to 1,200°F and intermittent temperatures up to 2,000°F. That makes it a strong alternative to silicone-based heat sleeves in applications above 500°F. The material also resists abrasion and chemical exposure for added durability.
Fuel Line Heat Sleeve & Heat Resistant Wire Loom
Lava® Tube works as both a fuel line heat sleeve and a heat-resistant wire sleeve. Installing this lava heat sleeve around fuel lines helps reduce the risk of fuel vaporization caused by nearby exhaust heat. It can also protect wire looms from insulation damage, melting, short circuits, and other heat-related failures.
A hook-and-loop closure makes installation quick and easy. You can install Lava® Tube without disconnecting hoses, wiring, or lines.
Lava® Tube is available in four diameters from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches, with 3-foot and 10-foot roll options. You can cut it to length as needed. For the cleanest finish, secure the cut ends with heat shield tape or heat shrink to help reduce fraying.

FAQ
Is it okay for the Lava Tube to touch the exhaust pipe?
Yes, as long as it’s not on the hook-and-loop seam and the exhaust component stays within the 1200°F temperature limit. Hook and Loop seam should face away from the heat source at all times.
Can I put the Lava Tube around a small exhaust pipe?
No-In this configuration the Lava Tube is designed to just shield heat away. Installing the Lava Tube on an exhaust system could cause the high temp Hook and Loop to melt and create serious problems.
