Fireplace Mantel Heat Protection for TVs and Soundbars

MantelFlect Shield™ is a fireplace mantel heat shield that helps protect mantels, TVs, soundbars, and nearby surfaces from excessive radiant heat. Its reflective aluminum surface redirects radiant heat away from protected areas. At the same time, the built-in Kool Core insulation helps reduce heat transfer. This added protection is especially useful for TVs and electronics installed above fireplaces.

Fireplace Heat Protection for Mantels, TVs & More

Fireplaces can generate substantial radiant heat that reaches the mantel and the area above the firebox. Over time, excessive heat exposure may contribute to cracking, warping, drying, discoloration, and damage to nearby electronics.

MantelFlect Shield™ installs on the underside of the mantel and creates a thermal barrier between the fireplace and the protected surface. Its slim 1/8-inch design also makes it easy to add to an existing fireplace without significantly changing the appearance of the mantel.

In addition, you can trim this fireplace mantel heat shield with scissors or a utility knife to fit your application. Each kit includes edging tape for a clean finished appearance. The adhesive backing also helps the shield attach securely to clean, smooth surfaces.

Protecting TVs and Soundbars Above a Fireplace

MantelFlect Shield™ helps reduce radiant heat exposure to TVs, soundbars, wall finishes, and other surfaces above a fireplace. However, the shield primarily controls radiant heat. Ambient and convective heat may still rise around the mantel and reach nearby electronics.

Always follow the fireplace and electronics manufacturers’ required clearances and ventilation guidelines. Also, do not cover ventilation openings on TVs, soundbars, or other electronic equipment.

Customizable for Your Fireplace

MantelFlect Shield™ can be painted with aluminum-compatible paint if you want a different appearance. However, painting the reflective surface will reduce its radiant heat reflectivity. The insulating Kool Core layer will still help reduce heat transfer.
