Is the smoker heat shield waterproof?

The BBQoozie Shield is not waterproof, but it is water resistant. Additionally, there are no adverse effects to the insulation jacket if it does get wet from snow or rain. We do recommend storing the heat shield when not in use.

How well does the BBQ heat shield hold up to UV damage?

The outer layer of the BBQoozie is rated for 5 years of UV resistance. We always recommend you use a cover for your BBQ or smoker when not using it, this will prolong the life of your heat shield.
